BARREL OF MONKEYS: "GENESIS" in Reverse

I consider myself a Democrat. Been called a Socialist. Definitely a bleeding heart liberal.

As a child from a traditional southern family, playing Barrel of Monkeys on the floor, church every Sunday, doing well in public school, learning a trade; in every sense privileged .........

Comfortable in middle age, an avid news reader, on learning the tragic story of a full grown chimpanzee destroying the face of a woman who offered a toy, only trying to help it's owner coax her surrogate child back into his cage......

Today being confrontational, ribald, offensive, restless, rebellious.......

How did I get here from there?

What Do You Call a Black Man With a J.D.?

"Don't tell me YOU think Civil Rights and Gay Rights are the same thing!"

More conservative than me, wasn't surprised to hear Terrell say that.He was one of the two black male technician, working at a hospital recently  acquired by a lesbian veterinary associate previously worked with before going into relief veterinary work.  Except for a tendency to suspect FIP a lot and hear heart murmurs even I would question, behind her back that is (hearing impaired remember/had to make sure other doctors agree),  always had much admiration for Dr. Lavell.  Do regret getting too comfortable with her being lesbian and maybe too relaxed for what staff was comfortable with when it came to gay culture.

But it wasn't that he didn't think they had anything to do with each other; it was the fact he wouldn't hear me try to explain why they were the same.  Blacks do not own the 'civil' and 'rights'.

What Do You Call a Black Man With a J.D.?: "Harvard-Yale football homecoming has a unique significance for black graduate students who gather to celebrate; it is a temporary moment of relief. The Ivy League postgraduate environment can be a very a hostile one for blacks, who are arguably made to feel more at home in America's prisons than in its top universities."

"One thing I like about the Digital age: having the dictionary at my fingertips, how easy it is to look up unfamiliar words as I go along reading." "At least....... until, I played my first game of SCRABBLE on the internet. Wow! I had no idea you could spell so many words with seven letters every time." "Now I feel pressured to catch up!"
