BARREL OF MONKEYS: "GENESIS" in Reverse

I consider myself a Democrat. Been called a Socialist. Definitely a bleeding heart liberal.

As a child from a traditional southern family, playing Barrel of Monkeys on the floor, church every Sunday, doing well in public school, learning a trade; in every sense privileged .........

Comfortable in middle age, an avid news reader, on learning the tragic story of a full grown chimpanzee destroying the face of a woman who offered a toy, only trying to help it's owner coax her surrogate child back into his cage......

Today being confrontational, ribald, offensive, restless, rebellious.......

How did I get here from there?

OPTIMISM! SHOULD THERE BE A LIMIT?

"I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today...!!!

Everything I need to know,
I learned from
Noah's Ark .

ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Email sent to me by a fan, according to my mother, of Fox News and Glenn Beck.

Friends of my mother,  neighbors down the street,  attending same church; this
octagenarian along with his wife have created nothing but many positive childhood memories for me.

Nicest people you will ever meet.

Like to believe friends of mine as well.

But,
doesn't spare them my rebuttal:

Didn't Noah's peers think he was a fool for building the Ark?

Weren't they, also, all in the same boat?

Would you take a cruise on an Ark built by amateurs?

As God is everywhere, how can one be anywhere without him?

Let's not forget Glen Beck!

"Then, without any malice in our heart, no matter what they said to us as they were pointing out the windows, you're crazy. When they finally get it, we need to be able to say to each other and say to them — not I told you so, but welcome, brother. Come on, get in the boat."

He's the one who compared America to the Titanic on one of his shows. Would have already been in a lifeboat out on the water before everyone else on board knew it was sinking.

Do like the painting.

;^)

At 90, Daniel continues to paint art that vivid and larger than life.

He says, “Art is neither so complex nor simple as it is made out to be, but rather comes from the heart, not from the mind.”

His is a unique way of seeing the world, funny rather than peculiar, never dull, always human, and always with strong emotion.

Mark Keith is fond of saying, “People are going to come and interview me someday just because I knew Spot Daniel.” He may be right.

"One thing I like about the Digital age: having the dictionary at my fingertips, how easy it is to look up unfamiliar words as I go along reading." "At least....... until, I played my first game of SCRABBLE on the internet. Wow! I had no idea you could spell so many words with seven letters every time." "Now I feel pressured to catch up!"
