Clover Grill! Man did that bring back memories! I've eaten there many, many times.
Haven't been back to New Orleans since Katrina. Halloweens were fun, but Southern Decadence weekends were a blast. Never a dull moment; or an unpleasant memory.
If I had to explain it to a straight person, suppose I would compare to Brazil's Carnival. But then if you've never been to Brazil (neither have I), then it's probably something you will never understand.
Sorry. Maybe you're better off sticking with "the bottle," "a good book," or whatever worked. Up to that point, no one is judging you. We all have problems, struggles with depression, unrealized dreams.
But......
after an opinion, you're fair game.
Also liked the referrence to the hummingbird and it's wing pattern of a figure 8; the symbol for infinity. It was like the Clover Grill was a crossover point, a moment when everything was in perfect balance, fleetingly.
