BACK AT YA, JOE!
Couldn't help but notice how Obama kept his composure and went on with his speech. Just because he didn't react viscerally to the interruption, doesn't mean he didn't recognize the disease that paralyzes him as well as the nation.
Oh he's aware; as well as every minority of any color, any victim of sexual and/or gender discrimination, anyone handicapped by physical disabilities, etc., etc., etc.!
But what can we do? We just have to put on the best face we can and keep going as if nothing happened, nothing is wrong; our fate "dependent on the kindness of strangers" not blinded by loyalty or self interests when witness to injustice committed by their own people.

would come to the aid of a complete stranger
equally
as he would a close friend.
Then again,
a truly virtuous man would have no friends."

Uncle Tom
From Wikipedia
This article is about the racial term. For the novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe, see Uncle Tom's Cabin.
A 1901 stage adaptation of Uncle Tom's Cabin containing mixed elements of Harriet Beecher Stowe's original Christian martyr and the stock minstrel character of later adaptations Uncle Tom is a pejorative term for a black person who is perceived by others as behaving in a subservient manner to white authority figures, or as seeking ingratiation with them by way of unnecessary accommodation. The term comes from the title character of American writer Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. Critical and popular views of both the character and the novel have shifted over time, leading to the shift in the term's use.
In the novel the Uncle Tom character is a black Christian martyr, morally superior to his white owners in an antebellum fiction whose subtext was an argument that the institution of slavery was immoral. Numerous adaptations altered the depiction substantially, often rendering him feeble, servile, or a race traitor. These adaptations, along with critical distaste for the original character's passivity, contributed to the strongly negative connotations of the name in modern popular use

Anosognosic’s Dilemma
A bit hard to follow, a difficult read, but very enlightening as to how our brain's handle conflicting data, tricks us into believing our own lies, seeing a world different from reality, cluelessly leading to what should have been an obviously inappropriate behavior . How an act of self-deception can concurrently be beneficial, destructive, and necessary for survival; all below the level of our consciousness.
