As a child from a traditional southern family, playing Barrel of Monkeys on the floor, church every Sunday, doing well in public school, learning a trade; in every sense privileged .........


Comfortable in middle age, an avid news reader, on learning the tragic story of a full grown chimpanzee destroying the face of a woman who offered a toy, only trying to help it's owner coax her surrogate child back into his cage......


Today being confrontational, ribald, offensive, restless, rebellious.......


How did I get here from there?

RIGHT FOOT LOOPED AND SHAKING ALL AROUND

Judge gives the green light for same-sex marriage in California - CNN.com: "Same-sex marriage is legal in five U.S. states and in the District of Columbia, while civil unions are permitted in New Jersey. The five states are Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Iowa and New Hampshire."




BITTERSWEET LOOP!


Reading this article threw me for a loop; learning there was "FIVE OF THEM!" Knew I had been feeling so "out of the loop" lately, but shocked,  so clueless, as to how much! 

Knew there was Massachusetts. Thought maybe Iowa.  A number of states slugging it out.  But FIVE, plus more slugging it out.  Like waking up while driving to work,  from a day dream  as you  approached difficult intersection under construction having to take a detour.    You weren't asleep as you knew exactly where you were, where you needed to be, even knew you were on time; but detour felt wrong  not being the sane exit.  Realizing this won't be last time under construstion,   made me realize , no more dreaming, pay attention; from now on no diffierent exits, just more detours.
If someone dared me, to prove my gayness, by naming all five states that allowed gay marriage.  Pretty sure how I would have answered, having already gotten the surprise.

 Man would that cut down the size of my resume;  having more references than enough to appear impressive. My word itself not even enough. 

Could only name 2, but knew there was 1 or 2 more.  Even now couldn't name all five of them; but learning there's five already a big improvement.  
 Not so bad; another night wasted.
Living it up; keeping on trying.
Close enough; within the The Loop.
 Getting it right; even if night before.
