BARREL OF MONKEYS: "GENESIS" in Reverse

I consider myself a Democrat. Been called a Socialist. Definitely a bleeding heart liberal.

As a child from a traditional southern family, playing Barrel of Monkeys on the floor, church every Sunday, doing well in public school, learning a trade; in every sense privileged .........

Comfortable in middle age, an avid news reader, on learning the tragic story of a full grown chimpanzee destroying the face of a woman who offered a toy, only trying to help it's owner coax her surrogate child back into his cage......

Today being confrontational, ribald, offensive, restless, rebellious.......

How did I get here from there?

JESUS COMPLEX: Is Jesus God?

JESUS COMPLEX: Is Jesus God?: "Many, like Gandhi, have tried to separate Jesus’ teaching on ethics from his claims about himself, believing that he was simply a great man who taught lofty moral principles. This was the approach of one of America’s Founding Fathers, President Thomas Jefferson, who cut and pasted a copy of the New Testament, removing sections he thought referred to Jesus’ deity, while leaving in other passages regarding Jesus’ ethical and moral teaching4. Jefferson carried around his cut and pasted New Testament with him, revering Jesus as perhaps the greatest moral teacher of all time."

The claims of Jesus Christ force us to choose. As Lewis stated, we cannot put Jesus in the category of being just a great religious leader or good moral teacher. This former skeptic challenges us to make up our own minds about Jesus, stating,

"You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

Alien Minors Act could boost U.S. military ranks - USATODAY.com

Alien Minors Act could boost U.S. military ranks - USATODAY.com: "Felipe Matos would be glad to join the military under the DREAM Act.
Born to a single mother in the slums of Brazil, he came to live with relatives in the U.S. at 14. He graduated from high school, got an associate's degree at Miami Dade College and hopes to get a four-year degree and become a high school teacher. He says he wants to repay the country that gave him the opportunity to succeed.
'I have friends who would have loved to join the military,' says Matos, 24. 'I feel that all of us are just trying to serve and contribute to the only country we know and
love.'"

Compare this young man, who's parents were illegal immigrants, to your average kid with hard working, relatively wealthy, american-born (as well as christian),  pro-life, against univeral health insurance, environmental regualtions,anti-tax, gun rights, against gays in military, proposition 8 proponents, against signature to nuclear non-proliferaion agreements, global warming skeptic  parents...............

How likely are these kids participating in community services,  putting lucrative careers on hold, joining the military to serve their country; grateful instead of hateful.

UnderwaterTimes | Should Females Trust Showy Males? 'Honesty In Males Mostly Depends On How Many Opportunities There Are To Breed'

UnderwaterTimes Should Females Trust Showy Males? 'Honesty In Males Mostly Depends On How Many Opportunities There Are To Breed': "A team of researchers led by Dr Jan Lindström at the University of Glasgow have found that the honesty of the signal can vary dramatically over time, depending on both the condition of the male and the likelihood of him obtaining future matings. The research suggests it may pay females to wait until ‘dishonest’ males have exhausted themselves in producing a flashy signal that they cannot sustain.
Evolutionary biologist, Dr Lindström said: “Honesty in males mostly depends on how many opportunities there are to breed. If males can breed now but the future promises little in terms of further matings, all males should immediately reveal their ‘true colours’ – so that the signals they produce are a reliable indication of their quality. But if males can potentially breed several times over the course of a breeding season, it pays those in best condition to keep some of their strength in reserve.
“In contrast, those males in poorer condition cannot afford to delay seeking a mate, so must signal as hard as they can – with the result that at the start of the breeding season a female cannot reliably judge a male’s quality from his signal. However, as time goes on, the poorer condition males must drop out of the competition, leaving only the better ones and making it easier for a female to pick a high quality mate.”"

On Polling - Voters’ Mood - Men Are Fuming, Women Are Despairing - An Analysis - NYTimes.com: "But 2006 and 2008 may prove to be anomalies. Distracted Driving: One in Six Highway Deaths Tied to Phones, Texting - ABC News

So-called distracted driving crashes claimed 5,474 lives and led to 448,000
injuries across the country last year, according to the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration. That's one in every six highway deaths.

"People
[need to] take personal responsibility for the fact that they're driving a three
or four thousand pound car," Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told ABC News.
"If you're looking down at a cell phone for four seconds or a texting device for
four seconds, you're driving the length of a football field without looking at
the road."

Distracted Driving: One in Six Highway Deaths Tied to Phones, Texting - ABC News: "'Surveys show that a large majority of drivers think they're better than average drivers so it, people may believe that they can text or talk on a phone safely while other people on the road can't,' she said. 'With any kind of unsafe driving -- drinking and driving, speeding, not wearing your seatbelt -- you may get away with that most of the time. You don't think you're going to be in a crash. So it's hard to keep the worry about being in a crash foremost in your mind.'"

Michael Vick's Dogs Find Homes

If there is a God.....?
And God made man in his image.....?
Then God must look an awful lot like.........?

MICHAEL VICK!

“The existence of a world without God seems to me less absurd than the presence of a God, existing in all his perfection, creating an imperfect man in order to make him run the risk of Hell.”

Couldn't help but see a parallel between Michael Vick's rehabilitation, public display of remorse, and the rehabilitation of his pitbulls used for fighting.  As a veterinarian, well aware how friendly and  playfull pitbulls are in general;   how quickly without warning,  destruction capable of as their demeanor  make a 360 degree turn.  Like a switch had been turned on/off before able to comprehend what was happening, rendering helpless to minimize the destruction.

Only time proves one right or wrong; never a fact till too late.

Powerful Solar Storm Could Shut Down U.S. for Months - Science News Science & Technology Technology News - FOXNews.com

A new study from the National Academy of Sciences outlines grim possibilities on Earth for a worst-case scenario solar storm.

Damage to power grids and other communications systems could be catastrophic, the scientists conclude, with effects leading to a potential loss of governmental control of the situation.

The prediction is based in part on a major solar storm in 1859 that caused telegraph wires to short out in the United States and Europe, igniting widespread fires.

Exclusive: Eric Massa on 'Glenn Beck' - Glenn Beck - FOXNews.com

BECK: America, I've got to shoot straight with you: I think I've wasted your
time. I think this is the first time I have wasted an hour of your time. And I
apologize for that. Because I think we could have spent a lot less time with you
backtracking a lot. You're lot —

MASSA: I'm not backtracking. I'm
telling you what happened.

Eric Massa.......definitely, a man with faults appearing as having a rough edge; imperfect human being.

Eric Mass...... superficially, a man many would rather not associate with; not one of us.

Eric Massa.....optimistically, a man with a vision believed making a difference; elected congressman.

Eric Massa......opportunistically,  a man easily disassociated from rather than defending when no longer helpful; ex-congressman.

Eric Massa........condescendingly, a  man not only admitting to accusations but accepting full responsibility, althought not quite the guilt;  dishonorable.

Eric Massa.........shockingly, a man beaten;  honest.
Believe  honesty is what people can't accept; makes so many uncomfortable.
It changes the rules
when someone having nothing to gain
actually
 tells the truth.
Rules building foundation forming support for our very character .

Sarah Palin's PAC Launches 'Mama Grizzlies' Ad on YouTube - ABC News

"It seems like it's kind of a mom awakening in the last year and a half, where women are rising up and saying, 'No, we've had enough already,' because moms kind of just know when something's wrong," Palin says in the 1-minute, 50-second video.

There in Alaska I always think of the mama grizzly bears that rise up on their hind legs when somebody's coming to attack their cubs, to do something adverse toward their cubs," she adds. "You thought pitbulls were tough, you don't want to mess with the mama grizzlies."

The ad has reignited whispers of a potential 2012 presidential bid for Palin, who has stayed in the spotlight even though she holds no political office.

HICKS: Parental outrage can protect our kids from 'progressive' sex-ed - Washington Times: "Parents in Montana — and across the country, for that matter — need to be equally outraged that the innocence of our nation's children is gradually being sacrificed in the name of 'comprehensive' (read: progressive) sexuality education."

What a fucking joke!
