BARREL OF MONKEYS: "GENESIS" in Reverse

I consider myself a Democrat. Been called a Socialist. Definitely a bleeding heart liberal.

As a child from a traditional southern family, playing Barrel of Monkeys on the floor, church every Sunday, doing well in public school, learning a trade; in every sense privileged .........

Comfortable in middle age, an avid news reader, on learning the tragic story of a full grown chimpanzee destroying the face of a woman who offered a toy, only trying to help it's owner coax her surrogate child back into his cage......

Today being confrontational, ribald, offensive, restless, rebellious.......

How did I get here from there?

ALIEN NATION: FOREIGN LANGUAGE SYNDROME

"When I see that, I see the person I used to be," the 49-year-old said. "It's not my voice I miss. I would love to have my own voice back, but it goes way, way, way beyond my voice."
Scott said that kind of attitude wasn't unusual, describing one Foreign Accent Syndrome patient who felt more comfortable in a London hotel lobby than in her own hometown, where well-meaning strangers often embarrassed her by asking if she needed help getting around. Scott said that feeling of alienation was part of what of what made the condition so unique.
"It's not only that you don't sound like who you are," she said. "You don't sound like the others around you either."

Phys Ed: Playing Music During Exercise - NYTimes.com: "“Humans and songbirds” are the only creatures “that automatically feel the beat” of a song, she said. The human heart wants to synchronize to music, the legs want to swing, metronomically, to a beat. So the next time you go for a moderate run or bike ride, first increase the tempo of some insidiously catchy Lady Gaga downloads (or Justin Bieber or Katy Perry or whatever reflects the current popular taste in your household), and load them on your iPod. “Our bodies,” Dr. Kraus concluded, “are made to be moved by music and move to it.”"

Phys
Ed: Can Exercise Make Kids Smarter? - NYTimes.com
: "The two studies did not
directly overlap, but the researchers, in their separate reports, noted that the
hippocampus and basal ganglia regions interact in the human brain, structurally
and functionally. Together they allow some of the most intricate thinking. If
exercise is responsible for increasing the size of these regions and
strengthening the connection between them, being fit may “enhance
neurocognition” in young people, the authors concluded.

These findings arrive at an important time. For budgetary and
administrative reasons, school boards are curtailing physical education, while
on their own, children grow increasingly sluggish. Recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention show that roughly a quarter of children participate in zero physical
activity outside of school."

Obama’s ‘Otherness’

Political Times - G.O.P. Is Using Obama’s ‘Otherness’ as Campaign Tactic - NYTimes.com: "If Ronald Reagan was the party’s Great Communicator, then Republicans seem to be hoping that Mr. Obama is its Great Galvanizer. The assault on Mr. Obama’s cultural affinity, the clear implication that he is neither suitably Christian nor American in his values, adds a sinister subtext to the argument against his economic agenda. It suggests that Mr. Obama is oddly indifferent to the effects of his policies on ordinary Americans because, at the end of the day, he doesn’t share their experience."

Mr. Obama’s alleged sympathy for so-called Muslim extremists who would desecrate the World Trade Center site, his socialist African ancestry and his early years in Indonesia — all of this creates a shadowy archetype that every conservative enclave, fiscal, foreign policy and religious, can find a reason to fear.

"DON'T FORGET TO CLEAN YOUR BALLS!"

What I would like to know is......
HOW DOES ONE KNOW FOR SURE
 BALLS ARE CLEAN ENOUGH
BEFORE
HIS BIG DATE?

ALL IN THE FAMILY: THE RIDDLE

Father and son were in a car accident.  Unfortunately the man died instantly; his son, with life theatening injuries, rushed to hospital emergency room and immediately into surgery.  Upon entering and seeing the patient, the surgeon said,
"I can not operate
on this boy
because he is my son."

 Who was this surgeon?

Why is crime falling in a recession? | The Upshot Yahoo! News - Yahoo! News

Why is crime falling in a recession? The Upshot Yahoo! News - Yahoo! News: "The FBI chart above shows that property crimes also decreased, along with each category of violent crime, even as unemployment around the country remained high in a down economy. But experts who study fluctuations in crime rates say they have no real relationship to employment patterns. 'Forty-year-old non-offenders who get laid off are unlikely to start robbing 7-11s,' University of Colorado sociology professor Tim Wadsworth wrote to The Upshot in an email. 'Most of us think that the relationship between the economy and crime rates has more to do with high rates of joblessness influencing the health and well-being of communities.' Once joblessness damages communities, young men -- who make up the bulk of offenders -- begin to commit more crimes, he says."

"There is a connection between the economy and crime rates, but it's not that when the economy is bad, people go out and commit crime," he said. "When the economy is bad, there are budget cuts. Less is spent on youth crime prevention and crime control on the street."

WITH HER HANDS OF LEATHER

"Thank you for calling.
But before making my decision,
I'm going online
and

Couldn't help but be amused, upon hearing this statement from a client as she wrapped up our conversation.  Well......what should have been the end of my phone call to discuss labwork we've just recieve on her pet.

"Ma'am.  I hope you don't mind me asking this question....but how old are you?"
Pretty obvious from the sound of her voice, I was speaking with someone quite elderly. One quick to laugh at reason for asking;  somewhat humored at being the one, patient enough to teach me how........as i've never until that day........to GOOGLE
.
On this particular day, I was doing relief veterinary work at a one veterinarian hospital own by a young couple anxiously waiting the arrival of their first child.  As the due date was very close, the hospital administrator  called and arranged for me to sub for the doctor "until the baby arrived".

Boy was "until the baby arrived" understated.  His wife, the doctor, was back at work almost the second the baby took it's first breath!

MAN'S ASL STORYTELLING

Wow!
Has any thought been given to mandating
American Sign Language
 (ASL)
the official language for our country?

Could be the answer
to
America's OBESITYproblem!

SOUND OF THE HUMAN VOICE

OBAMA'S MIILLENNIAL EDUCATION SCHEME...?

Obama’s Millennial Education Scheme
The GOP has an opportunity here to talk to young people about the nobility of public service but also the danger of being a slave to government. The best thing government can do for Millennials is to give them the opportunity to know the satisfaction of being your own boss, controlling your own destiny, and giving back to the community in the way that’s best for you.
The above paragraph was taken from a:
U.S. NEWS COMMENTARY By Mary Kate Cary
as her solution to problems created from a bill passed by none other than.....(let me take a wild guess)...OBAMA himself.

Here it is:

The administration inserted little-noticed language into the reconciliation bill for healthcare reform. Here’s the play: If you graduate from college with student loans and work for a public service organization, and make 120 monthly student loan payments while working at that job, any unpaid loan balance after that will be forgiven by the federal government. According to the Department of Education, public service organizations can be “any federal, state, or local government organization or agency and most charitable non-profit organizations,” including the military, law enforcement, and colleges and universities. In the same presidential penstroke, the administration essentially took over Sallie Mae by barring future government guarantees of most private student loans. The federal government now runs the student loan business at an estimated cost of $100 billion per year. Not only have they eliminated any competition from banks, they’ve removed any incentive for colleges to keep tuition costs down because taxpayers will foot the bills.

AND.....
IT'S ALL OBAMA'S FAULT!

"JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!"
The ink hasn't even dried yet!

Let me see if I got this right:

  • We just baled out Wall Street and Banks Too Big To Fail which happened on Bush watch.
  • We had the brightest of our nation students opting for careers in the Financial sector; huge bonuses being the big draw, up until the recession.
  • Not only could many not already afford higher education before the recession; even more are now unlikely to have jobs or even parents with jobs financially able to help them through college.
  • Paying back the government through public service in order to have part of an education loan forgiven........ as a choice is a bad thing?
  • Being allowed a choice to give back to the community......  is a good thing?

Exactly...who's best interest... this chick looking after?  Sounds like we're back where we started....before the ink left the pen!

OBAMA

might as well have signed using a can of spray paint!

Why Afghanistan has reacted so sharply to threat of Quran burning - CSMonitor.com

Why Afghanistan has reacted so sharply to threat of Quran burning - CSMonitor.com: "The 14th century Muslim historian and philosopher Ibn Khaldun studied early Muslim kingdoms and dynasties that sought to exert central government control over often-fractious populations that resented such control and often fell to or were weakened by rivalries among their own elites. He found those that lasted longest, and most successfully, were ones that used Islam to cut across tribal and cultural rivalries. Religion acted as a sort of political glue that could tamp down the centrifugal forces of tribal allegiance."

(ALL SEVEN of THEM)

The Seven Deadly Sins, also known as the Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins, is a classification of the most objectionable vices that has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct followers concerning (immoral) fallen humanity's tendency to sin. The final version of the list consists of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. The Catholic Church divided sin into two principal categories: "venial sins", which are relatively minor and could be forgiven through any sacramentals or sacraments of the church, and the more severe "capital" or mortal sins. Mortal sins are believed to destroy the life of grace and create the threat of eternal damnation unless either absolved through the sacrament of Penance or forgiven through perfect contrition on the part of the penitent.
